About This Course

This course explores how gamification is being redefined by artificial intelligence (AI). It focuses on designing engaging, adaptive, and human-centered experiences by combining gamification, storytelling, and AI. The course also introduces emerging frontiers such as extended reality (XR) and AI-assisted “vibe coding” for real-world applications.

Program Outcomes

Students gain the ability to design and deliver engaging, ethical, and AI-powered experiences by integrating gamification, storytelling, and human–AI collaboration into practical, real-world solutions.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, students will:

  • Understand the core principles of gamification, storytelling, and human–AI collaboration
  • Explain how AI is transforming user experience and digital engagement
  • Apply gamification techniques to design more engaging and motivating systems
  • Design simple AI-powered experiences that are usable, ethical, and effective
  • Develop and present a practical concept or prototype for an AI-driven experience

  • German UDS Micro Degrees are compatible with the European MOOC Consortiums Common Micro Credentials Framework.
  • Micro Degrees will be rewarded with an equivalent of 5 ECTS.
  • Micro Degrees are offered to non-regular students and require a fee of €900.
