Minister of Science Manja Schüle presents state recognition to German UDS

The German University of Digital Science (German UDS) has officially received state recognition from the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg. In a celebratory ceremony, Minister of Science Dr. Manja Schüle presented the official certificate to the university's presidents, Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel and Prof. Dr. Mike Friedrichsen. After handing over the notification of state recognition, she took a tour of the German UDS and was shown the premises and the learning platforms.

The recognition establishes German UDS as the first state-recognized university in Europe to offer a fully digital German university degree. With its innovative approach to 100% digital teaching, the university aims to provide students worldwide with access to high-quality academic education, independent of location.

Minister Dr. Manja Schüle highlighted the significance of this achievement:
"With the German University of Digital Science, Brandenburg gains a pioneering institution in digital education. Professors Meinel and Friedrichsen are enriching our scientific landscape with a unique concept that sets new standards for Germany. Together with HPI, we now have two digital heavyweights in Babelsberg’s media city. I look forward to the innovations and ideas that will emerge from this groundbreaking university."

The founders expressed their gratitude and optimism about the future:
"The state recognition validates our vision of combining scientific excellence with technological innovation," said Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel.
Prof. Dr. Mike Friedrichsen added: "This milestone underscores Brandenburg’s commitment to digital education and enables us to provide accessible, world-class education to all, breaking geographical and financial barriers."

German UDS is poised to redefine higher education by offering fully digital programs such as MBA and Master’s degrees in cutting-edge fields like Applied AI, Cybersecurity, and Digital Leadership.

This achievement marks a turning point in global digital education, positioning German UDS as a leader in democratizing access to knowledge while addressing critical global challenges such as the shortage of IT professionals.
