Culture
The culture of the German University of Digital Science (UDS) is defined by a shared belief that excellent higher education in digital technologies should be accessible worldwide, innovative and human-centred. As a fully digital university, the German UDS fosters a pioneering spirit, with students, faculty and staff viewing themselves as co-creators of a new kind of academic space. This space combines rigorous scholarship with experimentation in virtual learning, incorporating everything from 3D campus experiences and interactive labs to design-thinking-driven project work and entrepreneurial activities. The international and diverse community brings together learners from a variety of cultural and professional backgrounds and fosters an atmosphere of openness, inclusion and mutual respect, actively encouraging and integrating many perspectives into teaching and research.
At the same time, the university emphasises responsibility, collaboration and lifelong learning as core cultural values. The university promotes the reflective and ethical use of AI (AI Charter) and digital technologies, encouraging students to work on real-world challenges in global teams. It supports them in developing technical expertise as well as digital maturity, critical thinking and social awareness. Learning is intentionally flexible and student-centred, designed to fit different life situations while building a strong sense of community through virtual social events, mentoring, innovation challenges, and a vibrant digital campus ecosystem.
