Career Weeks

The Career Weeks in Germany program is a four-week, immersive professional development opportunity designed for German UDS master's students. It brings your online studies to life by offering a unique blend of career development workshops, real-world internships and cultural exploration. The program helps you to build professional and personal networks in Germany. 

Program Timeline 

The program is offered 2–3 times per year to provide flexibility for students: 

15 March – 15 April 
15 June – 15 July 
15 September – 15 October 

This program combines workshops in Potsdam, internships across Berlin and Brandenburg, and cultural activities. It is designed to fit seamlessly into your study schedule.

Estimated Costs 

The total estimated cost of participation is approximately €2.700 – 3.650* per student, and includes: 

Program tuition: €1.000  
(covers coordination, workshops, internship placement, certificate) 
Housing: approx. €1.000 – 1.500 for four weeks 
Local transportation: approx. €100 – 250, depending on the internship location 
Cultural & social activities: €150 – 250 
Meals: €450 – 650 
*Flights and visa costs are not included. 

Affordable housing options such as student dorms, host families, and short-term rentals, will be recommended.

Career Weeks in Germany Program FAQ

The program is open to all German UDS master’s students currently enrolled in any program of study.
No, the program and internship placements are designed to accommodate English-speaking students. However, basic German skills are helpful for everyday life and cultural interactions.
Placements are arranged with various German industry partners, including tech startups, research labs, consulting firms, and healthcare companies. The goal is to match students with companies based on their academic background and career goals.
Placements are based on student interests, program background, previous experience, and the availability of industry partners. Students will fill out a survey indicating their preferences, and the Student Affairs and Career Services teams will make the matches.
Yes. Upon successfully completing the program, including the required number of internship hours and sessions, students can receive ECTS credits based on the number of hours completed and the academic work submitted.
If you are a non-EU student, you will likely need a short-term Schengen visa for the duration of the program. The university will provide an invitation letter to support your visa application. We recommend applying early, as visa processing times vary by country.
Budget approximately €2,050–€2,700 for the full program, including tuition, housing, local transportation, cultural activities, and meals. Flights and visa fees are not included.
During the program weeks, the university will provide guidance on housing options in Potsdam and Berlin/Brandenburg. Students will typically stay in dormitories, with host families, or in short-term rentals (at their own cost).
The program has limited capacity based on the number of internship placements available with our industry partners. Registering early and promptly completing the interest survey will increase your chances of securing a spot.
