Daniele Di Mitri specializes in developing AI-driven, multimodal learning technologies to enhance digital education. As of 2025, he is a professor of Multimodal Learning Technologies at the German University of Digital Science, where he leads the "Augmented Feedback" research lab. He also serves as a lecturer at the Goethe University of Frankfurt and is affiliated with the DIPF - Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education. Di Mitri holds a PhD in Learning Analytics from the Open University of the Netherlands. He is a "Johanna Quandt Young Academy" fellow, "AI Newcomer 2021," and a member of several prominent academic groups, including the editorial board of Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence.
This module introduces students to the theoretical and technical foundations of immersive virtual world design, using tools like Unity to integrate geometry, lighting, physics, rendering, and interaction systems.
Delve into the principles and applications of sensory interactions and haptic feedback in creating immersive experiences. Explore the physiological foundations of how humans perceive and integrate multiple sensory inputs, with a focus on touch (haptics).
