German UDS to Host 4th Conference on “Digital Science in Education”

Hybrid conference on 28 May and fully online day on 29 May will explore AI, immersive technologies, and the future of learning.

The German UDS will host its 4th Conference on “Digital Science in Education” on 28-29 May 2026, bringing together leading researchers, educators, policymakers, and industry experts to examine how digital technologies are transforming education across all levels.

The two-day event will begin as a hybrid conference on 28 May, followed by a fully online programme on 29 May, enabling participation from a global audience. The conference will feature keynote talks, research presentations, expert panels, and industry sessions focusing on artificial intelligence, immersive learning environments, digital ethics, and the future of educational systems.

A Forward-Looking Agenda on AI and Digital Learning

The conference programme will address some of the most pressing questions in education today, particularly the rapid integration of artificial intelligence and digital tools into teaching, assessment, and institutional structures.

On the opening day, following the keynote speech by German UDS President Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel, participants will explore topics such as the role of AI in schools and education, Augmented and Virtual Reality and AI governance and ethics.

The day will conclude with sessions on assessment in the age of AI and the future of education, including contributions from academia, industry, and policymakers addressing the systemic transformation of learning environments.

Day Two: Global Perspectives and Sector Insights

The second day (29 May) will be conducted entirely online and will extend discussions into: Corporate learning and workforce development, EdTech innovation and industry adoption and a panel on “Redefining the Campus Experience in a Digital World”, exploring how hybrid and digital environments reshape universities.

The programme will feature international speakers from leading institutions such as Stanford University, TU Graz, the University of Cape Town, and industry leaders from SAP, Google, and heise.

The conference will emphasize the urgency of shaping digital transformation responsibly and collaboratively.
