Council of the German UDS Begins Its Work
The Council of the German University of Digital Science (German UDS) has officially commenced its activities, marking a significant step in the university’s academic self-administration and governance.
As the highest decision-making body in research and teaching at German UDS, the Council is responsible for managing and organizing the university’s academic self-governance. Its core tasks include issuing the university’s basic regulations and statutes, making decisions on all fundamental matters related to teaching and research, and ensuring the continuous development and quality of academic programs.
The Council’s responsibilities are wide-ranging:
- Electing the university president
- Providing input on the university’s budget
- Deciding on the university’s strategic development plan
- Appointing appointment committees and confirming appointment proposals
- Establishing study and examination boards and appointing their members
- Overseeing quality management in research and teaching
The Council is chaired by Prof. Dr. Julia von Thienen, with Felix Weitkämper serving as Vice Speaker.
