Teaching Subject: Software and Application Security

Senior Lecturer

About

Tim Garbe is a lecturer at the SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg, a position he has held since July 2025. He also serves as an external lecturer for cybersecurity at UDS, which he joined in October 2025. His teaching is informed by a strong background in both academic and applied research settings.

Before his current roles, he spent nearly four years at the Kunststoff-Zentrum in Leipzig gGmbH, first as a working student and later as a researcher. Throughout his time at the institute, his work focused on the development of data science solutions and integration software. This hands-on, industry-relevant experience provides a valuable practical perspective that he integrates into his lectures and course materials.

He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Hochschule für Technik Wirtschaft und Kultur Leipzig. While he has not yet pursued doctoral studies, his combination of hands-on research experience and a solid academic foundation in computer science provides a comprehensive basis for his teaching in the field. His main focus is on bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical application in data science and cybersecurity.
