Cybersecurity Deep Dive for Practitioners and Managers (3 Weeks)

Date: June 26th-July 17th, 2025
Costs: € 1500,- per person

In an increasingly digital world, cybersecurity is no longer the sole domain of technical specialists. Managers and practitioners across business and government must understand the risks, tools, and strategies needed to safeguard their organisations. Our three-week professional development program on Cybersecurity Essentials provides a comprehensive, practice-oriented introduction to cybersecurity for non-specialist professionals.

Participants will gain:

  • Basic literacy and awareness of key cybersecurity issues
  • An overview of current threat profiles and risk landscapes
  • A practical introduction to fundamental cybersecurity tools and their applications
  • Strategic insights into cybersecurity approaches tailored to different organisational needs

The program combines cutting-edge online content with collaborative group work to bridge theory and practice. Participants engage with core concepts through flexible, self-paced online modules, enabling them to fit learning into their professional schedules. Each week culminates in a one-day interactive workshop, where participants apply their knowledge to real-world cybersecurity cases. Working in teams, they will analyse scenarios, identify vulnerabilities, and propose robust defensive strategies. These workshops foster practical skills, peer learning, and critical thinking—essential qualities for managing cybersecurity challenges in diverse organisational environments. Designed specifically for managers and practitioners, the program ensures that participants leave with the confidence to engage with cybersecurity issues proactively, communicate effectively with technical teams, and contribute to building resilient organisations.

Join us to build your cybersecurity awareness—and strengthen your organisation’s digital defences.

Week 1: Sources of Cyberattacks

Human error remains one of the most significant vulnerabilities in cybersecurity, as attackers exploit urgency, trust, and simple mistakes through tactics like social engineering and insider manipulation. This module covers essential cyber hygiene practices—such as strong password use, two-factor authentication, and safe browsing—to help mitigate these risks. It also explores how artificial intelligence is transforming both the threat landscape and defense strategies, from deepfakes and automated attacks to AI-driven threat detection and incident response.

Week 2: The Importance of Data in Today’s World

Data are one of the most valuable assets in the digital world, making personal, business, and customer information prime targets for cybercriminals. This module examines the full lifecycle of a data breach—from initial theft to exploitation and trade on the dark web. Participants will gain insight into how stolen data fuels a hidden cyber economy and the real-world risks it poses to organisations and individuals.

Week 3: The Bigger Picture – Cyber Threats in Legal and Security Contexts

This module explores key cybersecurity laws and frameworks—such as GDPR, HIPAA, and the EU AI Act—and how compliance can be leveraged as a strategic advantage through strong policies and engaged staff. Participants will learn best practices for protecting sensitive data and examine real-world breaches that have caused significant reputational and financial harm. The course also delves into the rising threat of cyber espionage, highlighting how nation-states use cyberattacks to target critical infrastructure, disrupt economies, and gain geopolitical advantage.
